"I asked students in class today to reflect on your presentation, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Most students in my class had never (to their knowledge) met a trans* person, and enjoyed the opportunity to connect with his personal experience. For me, it was so valuable to put faces, personalities, and emotions to the social issues, identity terminology, and political debates we talk about in class. [His] openness and willingness to share [his] story provided a welcome break from the textbook, and was entertaining and engaging for the class. [His] talk was well-organized and did a great job of identifying "the basics" that cis- people ought to know without it feeling dumbed-down or preachy."
